December Angels 2007

One of my favorite books is A Tree full of Angels by Macrina Weiderkehr. She wrote this book on seeing the holy in the ordinary. The last poem in the book speaks on a storm that came that was both violent and terrifying. My recent storm did shake me to the depths of my being, yet God was present throughout in the form of angels that he sent to me. Many, many people have been angels to me. I cannot thank them enough for being there for me.

A long time ago, God sent an angel to Mary. You, see Mary did what God wanted her to do despite all the trials that she had to go through to do it. The angel told her to be not afraid.
The angels protected Mary as she carried God's son. Angels do protect us and they help us through our fear. Even if that fear is not real, angels are still are right by us guiding us, surrounding us, and strengthening us. Thanks be to God for the angels that he sends to pick us up, carry us and then set us back on the right path.

My tree of angels is like the Silver Maple in the poem. It is crowded with the lights of those angels that are heaven to me. I have been touched by the holy wings of angels and I know that it was God.
