“God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them” (1 John 4:16)

Abiding in love means that we live in the love of God at all times. Regardless of what is going on around us or in us, we live in the love of God. Sounds hard, doesn't it? It is hard for us to do as humans. It is hard to do when we are hurt by others and we want to lash out or get revenge. But God wants us to go a different way. That is why he sacrificed his Son so that we can live in his love. For there is no greater love than to sacrifice one life for another. Jesus did not deserve to die on a cross. He did nothing to be hurt with the lashes that he took. It was great injustice. Yet, that is what happened. It was the only way that God could show us just how much he loves us. When we are hurt, when we want revenge, when we want to lash out, think of Jesus and what he went through for you. He took all of our pain and our inner woundedness and turned it into love. Turn yourself to love this Christmas season. Celebrate the love that is in you , that was put in you during your Baptism for we all are one in Christ Jesus. We are all in one in love.

Merry Christmas
