One day at a time

The journal that I write in has the title of One Day at a Time. To me, it means not to look ahead at the future and try to change things to fit what I think should happen or want to happen, but to let God take control of my life one day at a time. To walk in the spirit of Christ is to just let things unfold. To trust yourself and your life to the One who brought you to life. Our help to do this comes from the Lord. My strength is not my own, but God's. For God has the power and he shares that with us through the Holy Spirit. We have the power instilled in us through our Baptism. We belong to him. The words God spoke when Jesus when he was baptised in the Jordan River still speak to us today. "You are my beloved child with whom I am well pleased."

We are beloved children of the King, and we need to remind ourselves daily that we are connected to God. Through that connection, we can live one day at a time and we can live in peace. Peace not as the world see it , but peace that only can be given to us through Christ Jesus.

Gracious God,
Today we pray for peace that your Son gives us as we go through life. We pray for strength and power that only you can give. Our help only comes to us from you, and we can make it one day at a time. Amen.
