Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in

UnWritten by Natasha Bedingfield

Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. As I light my candle tonight in honor of all those babies who have died, I remember the losses that these mothers have had to go through. As I helped put together some inservices at work this month, some of these same mothers have tried to share their stories. It is so hard to put such loss to words. It is so hard to hear their hearts break with each word as they talk about their babies, some with anger, some with fear, and some just trying to get the words out. One of the moms shared her story with a DVD movie because she couldn't say the words or maybe she didn't even know how to say it.
It's so hard to feel great loss in your life and you are reminded over and over about it. Natasha's words in her song Unwritten say it all. No one else can feel it for you. Only you can let it in and sometimes it is too hard to even do that.
These brave and strong women that shared were there as a group. They supported one another as they shared. They cried with each other. There was such a bonding between them. It is what is needed with great loss. Someone else to just be there, to hold you when you cry, to listen, to show you love.

May we all be there sometime in our life for those who experience great loss.
May we show them love and tell them how much we care.
It is what everyone needs when life takes away what matters to us most.
